long time, no blog

The more and more beauty youtube videos I watch, the more I want to start doing my OWN videos. As if I have the time really… but it looks so enjoyable. I mean why not? I love and have a passion for all things to do with cosmetics, and like to think of myself as somewhat knowledgeable. Anyway, Kelly may be getting a job up north and leaving me alone for 3 weeks at a time every month, it would give me something to occupy myself. Might go a little crazy just work, school and the puppies! He even thinks I should start making videos. Who knows, you may see some of those from me soon! 🙂

Ordered a couple things off Sephora.com today, including the Naked Palette from Urban Decay! Yes, i will FINALLY get my hands on it. Also the All-Nighter makeup setting spray by Urban Decay. I’ve been wanting to try a good setting spray and have heard good things about that one.

I’m off to organize and sleep, ciao! till tomorrow

The stakes are high, the water’s rough, but this love is ours.

Two songs I’ve been LOVING. I really need to get on this whole blogging thing. December was a pretty crazy busy month for me, with work, getting ready for my family coming and christmas of course! Now that it’s all over, the stress hasn’t really gone with it. UGH. Anwyays, will update soon, gotta go pick Kelly up from work

Happy Turkey Day!

Although I may not be having a very exciting day, I want to wish everyone else in Canada a Happy Thanksgiving! I am working everyday till Tuesday, but Kelly’s sister Brittany is in town visiting us till Friday so that is great! She got in today, and her and Kelly are currently out (I can’t for the life of me remember where, somewhere downtown) with a friend of hers for a while. I open at work tomorrow, ick, so I stayed home in order to go to bed early. Kind of a drag, but what can you do.

Kelly and I walked the puppies downtown to Shoppers Drug Mart a while ago, so I could return my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (it was like SUPER liquidy). I ended up exchanging it for the “light” version, since I’ve never tried it and they were the same price. Anyways, it was raining slightly out and my pups HATE the rain, mostly Apollo. So we proceeded to bundle them up in their new jackets (see pic below) that I got from a Greenhawk stand while at Spruce Meadows watching the masters with my mom! On sale, and SO cute, they are warm, waterproof, and I think just what they need to stand a cold Calgary winter.

While Sherlock is always upbeat and energetic on the walk, Apollo (especially in the rain!) was waddling behind us the whole way. Yes, waddling. He is a chubby little fellow that’s for sure. 🙂 I’ll add in one of my fav pics of Apollo below. I stopped to look in the window of Panago, debating whether I wanted pizza, and Apollo ran quickly under the overhang in front of the door and planted his body laying down on the mat. When it was time to go, he would not stand up! We called, pulled, and he just layed there like dead weight looking miserable. It was barely even raining!! What a silly guy, I couldn’t help but laugh at his adorableness. Eventually when I threatened to leave him there, he very slowly got up and waddled along with us again.

He’s wearing his argyle sweater in this picture. I can’t wait to buy him more winter clothing, including boots! It might coax him to be a little happier outside haha. Anyways, it’s 10pm and as lame as this sounds I’m going to finish getting ready for bed and hop in. Happy Turkey Day to all!

Goodies

Yesterday, I did give in and buy a few things, but I got a lot out of it for the amount I paid! I spent $100, and got a LOT! First thing… was Cesar Millan’s new book, “Cesar’s Rules”.

It’s a book all about dog training. We all know how much I LOVE Cesar Millan, so I’m pretty excited to have his new book! It just came out the same day I bought it, and I’ve read the first few chapters but it’s good so far.

Next, it gift with purchase time starts at Lancome today, but they were doing pre-sales yesterday (and I got to bring mine home early too! yay!) I bought 2 things, so I could get 2 gifts. 🙂 haha we all do it. I got the SOFTEST powder brush I have ever come across, like no kidding, SO SOFT! It’s very luxurious, so I had to have it. I also got their “La Base Pro” makeup base/primer. I’ve never tried it, but I hear it’s very good so I decided to try it.

As my gift with purchase, I actually got TWO gifts since they came to over $75, I got all this: (I couldn’t find a picture…) 2 makeup bags, one black one white, both with red roses in the corner and red trim. A quad eyeshow, blush, 2 mascaras and 2 mascara primers, 2 face creams and 2 eye creams, eye makeup remover, body lotion, juicy tubes lipgloss, 2 lipsticks, ALL for free! 🙂 And in the corporate Bay gift for spending over 75$ I got a bunch of fragrance samples, moisture surge cream, strivectin cream, another juicy tube, 10$ off a fragrance coupon, 3 makeup bags and a couple small samples of cream from Biotherm, Elizabeth Arden and another brand I can’t recall. Pretty good hey!

Today is my day off, last one then I work 6 days in a row, yuck! I’m not entirely sure what to do with my spare time. I’m going to Bikram yoga tonight with Alisha, that’s for sure. But I’ve got hours until then! Shopping perhaps? I did really want to go to Crossiron Mills and check out the Coach store there. Dog Park maybe? I’d rather wait till Kelly is home from work at 6 and go then, so I have company. Hmmm what to do what to do? For now I’m going to do some cleaning around here.

Bikram Yoga

Today, I tried Bikram Yoga for the first time. So far, it’s a little love/hate. For those of you who don’t know what Bikram Yoga is (or “hot yoga”) it is a 90 minute session, 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises each done twice, in a room at 105 degrees and 40% humidity. It’s like regular yoga, but hot and much more intense! I can honestly say, I’ve NEVER sweat so much in my whole life. Dripping from every part of my body. It is difficult, yes, but the heat allows your muscles to do the poses with more flexibility, flush out toxins and lose more weight (800-1100 calories per 90 min session!). I got a wicked sharp headache part way through, and had to sit out for a while, but I think I did really well for my very first time! Nausea and dizziness are to be expected at first, but they say you move past it.

I got a Introductory rate of $30 for one week, as many times as you want to go during the week. I’ll go at least 1-2 more times this week and see how I like it, then think about buying a membership after that! I hope I can stick with it, as it seems so great for your body in SO many ways, and I’ve been looking for a way to get back into shape. I went wish Alisha, who’s done it before, and it really helps to have someone to go with so you don’t skip out haha.

Tell me princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?

I have rediscovered my love for Disney movies! Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and of course my favorite, The Lion King, just to name a few I’ve seen recently. Perhaps its the new Venomous Villains line from M.A.C. that re-inspired me, an amazing makeup collection which MAC collaborated with Disney to create. It features Malificent, The Evil Queen, Cruella DeVille and Dr. Facilier (from the princess and the frog). I may have splurged and bought about 7 pieces from the collection ^_^ Here’s a picture showing a portion of the collection, you get the idea.

I purchased 3 things from the Evil Queen collection, an eyeshow (pale lilac color) Her Alter Image, a purple-pink lipgloss called Hot House, and the pink Beauty Powder called Oh So Fair. I only got one Cruella DeVille item, the red lipgloss called Wicked Ways. I got 2 from the Malificent collection, a pink-lilac beauty powder called Briar Rose and a deep purple mineralize duo eyeshadow called My Dark Magic. The only Dr. Facilier item I got was the Magic cool liquid powder in Truth and Light, which is AMAZING. It is 70% water, sooo soft and liquid feeling to the touch (even though it is totally a powder) and even feels cool and wet when you apply to the face! It is a translucent shimmer color, a highlight or finishing powder. I had to try it, it’s so unique.

Work has been keeping me pretty busy, I’ve worked 6 days in a row but our gift with purchase ends tomorrow so things will quiet down after that. I am love love loving the new wing of the mall in which I work! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t do a little shopping, but I’ve been very well behaved and haven’t really bought anything yet. Some of the new stores I will mention that are in the mall now include: Abercrombie, Hollister, Forever 21, Armani Exchange, Urban Outfitters, Bench, Lacoste, Coach, Burberry, Apple (like Mac store), Lush, Keihls and a ton more. So exciting! And tough to resist…

I bought myself a new watch yesterday from work since we got 30% off for one day! Here’s a pic.

I was thiiiiiiiis close to getting a Micheal Kors watch, but I found the large faces on them not quite feminine enough for my taste. As gorgeous as they are. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect purse, and perfect black boots. I’ve shopped high and low, and have yet to find one of either I would buy. Sigh! I tried on almost every purse in Coach, but I don’t like the brass I like silver, and unfortunately for me they seem to be on a real brass kick at Coach at the moment. I will wait till they get new ones in, or maybe travel on up to the outlet Coach in Crossiron mills (if i feel like driving up to north Calgary for some reason haha) and see if they have any older styles there without the brass. There was a wallet I loved in Coach, but I want to get the purse first, then wallet to match. There were some over-the-knee flat leather boots I was liking at work, but of course were all out of sizes 8 and 9, so no luck there. Ah well, I will keep searching! and update you when/if I find any of these items!

At Kelly’s new place of employment (1850, a clothing store) I receive a 30% discount also… sooo I’ve picked out 2 guess pants I adore. They are skinny, stretchy, one pair is dark denim the other is all black so I can wear them at work. I chose skinny style so whenever I find my perfect comfy boots, I can wear them together for working during the winter. I have to be prepared for these cold Calgary winters!

Anyhoo, I hear puppies whining so I should tend to that. I took them for a nice jog earlier this evening so I’m not sure exactly what they want. I love going walking/running with them, it really gets me out exercising, Kelly too! We walk them 2x a day, usually take turns depending on our work schedule as to who does morning walk and who does evening. I taught Sherlock to high five! It’s super cute, he is SO SMART it’s unbelievable.

Start a new fashion, wear your heart on your sleeve.

So for the past month I’ve been working full time at The Bay, in Chinook mall, as a Clinique consultant. Fun job, I quite like it! It’s our gift with purchase till Oct 2nd so some days have been kind of hectic and busy, a lot of customers only wanting to buy exactly or just over $26.50 to get the gift, which sucks for us. We are still behind our goals *sigh* so hopefully we can catch up. I’m SUPER excited for the new wing of the mall to open! Sept 29th! There’s going to be a Lacoste, Hollister, Abercrombie, Coach, Victoria’s Secret, and MORE! It will make it even harder for me to be saving my money haha.

The past week has been very stressful, but yesterday me and Kelly cleaned the living room, sorted through some boxes, and just had a pretty good day. Today I have the day off work, last day off then I work 6 days, one day off, and work 6 more. UGH. The mall is on christmas hours for 1 week with the new wing opening, so I have to work till 10pm some days. So I’m trying to make the most of my one day off today by continuing cleaning the house, walking the puppies (who are sleeping right now, awww), giving the pups a bath, doing some shopping, and other such errands.

I bought 2 new fish yesterday for my new aquarium! You see my last aquarium got a crack in it while moving, and was leaking all the time. Not a lot, but definitely leaking. I got a new 35 gallon tank off kijiji, stand and all, for $90! Good deal if I do say so myself. I added into it a Parrot Fish, and a Chinese Algae Eater, both very cool fish. In it right now I have 2 Tinfoil Barbs, 1 Rosy Barb, 4 Gouramis, 1 Pink Kisser, 2 Rainbow Fish and 1 Convict Cichlid. Everyone seems to be getting along with the new additions. 🙂

Anyways, I feel lazy sitting here while there’s so much to be done. Will update soon!
